The JAZZ PIANO IMPROVISATION course offers one-to-one coaching under our
senior instructors. The student will understudy him to develop his skills and techniques
This course is suitable for anyone who is keen on playing Advanced Pop Piano or Jazz
piano, be it for academic pursuit or leisure.

The student is allowed to learn ANY chosen Jazz Standards from our available library
of songs.

The course will be ideal for:
1) anyone with strong previous classical training, from Grade 3 to 8 or Diploma, or any
previous strong pop piano background
2) anyone with reasonable sight reading (at least right hand) and knowledge of chords
Course outline can be customised to student's needs if needed. As lessons are conducted one-to-one, all lessons will be conducted according to
student's learning pace and level.  

* Choice of own songs (Student will learn different ways to improvise his/her chosen songs.)
- Understudying styles of improvisation from assigned instructor

-Jazz Improvisation foundation (Solo playing and comping)
-Chord formation : Maj, Min, Dim, Sus, Aug, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, altered chords with b & #
-Jazz chord progressions

Left hand styles
-Left hand styles using advanced patterns including walking bass

Right hand styles
-Right hand melody treatment
-Embellishments & Fill-ins
-Jazz soloing

Reharmonisation

-Studies in different Jazz styles including Blues, Swing, Bossa Nova, Rag-time, Jazz funk

Course fees:
$180 per month (based on 4 lessons, 1to1)
$20 admin fee (one-time)
$100 refundable deposit (Refundable only upon termination with 1 month notice.)
* All books/scores & materials will be provided free throughout the entire course.

- The course is 'on-going', with no fixed duration. Each lesson is of 45 mins' duration. A fixed lesson will be held per week.

- Students can choose their preferred lesson timing, as long as the school has the available slots. We have available lesson slots from 1130am-915
pm for weekdays and 11am-5pm for Saturdays and Sundays. Lessons are on a fixed weekly basis.

- School fees will be paid on a monthly basis (on the last week before every month starts).

- Students are allowed to postpone lesson to a later date/timing, as long as students give at least three working days'  notice (60hrs) to the school.
The make-up lessons (if any) can be cleared within 3 months by any instructor.  Student must give at least 1 month notice to the school should the
student choose to terminate the course temporarily/permanently or change in time slot permanently due to any reason. Failure to do so will result in
forfeiture of school deposit made during registration.

-  In the event of a public holiday where there are no classes, the lesson will not be counted.  Only the number of weeks (lessons) in a month will be
counted. It doesn't matter which part of the month you register and commence your first lesson, as school fees will be prorated. We do not have any
such school holidays, whereby you have to pay your school fees and have no lessons to attend. (which is pretty unfair & senseless :/) So not to
worry.
