Why learn from us?
- We are the largest dedicated school specialising in Pop & Jazz Piano only established since 2003. We are open 7 days a week.
- Our professional instructors are experienced, genuine performing musicians who are specifically P.B.E.S trained to teach improvisation. We are
serious about teaching and we publish our own comprehensive teaching syllabus P.B.E.S since 2003.
- Students have the privilege to use all our facilities (e.g. piano studios at practise/waiting rooms, photocopier) for FREE.
- We are NOT at all commercially driven - All instructors in Play By Ear are in 'ONE family', with the same passion that makes us different from any
other schools. We take pride in our product presentation & services and we are overly obsessed in doing the best. Seriously.
- We NEVER make students to pay for anything more along the course (.e.g. Books, materials, scores, equipments) We won't make you buy books or
anything else while you come for lessons every week.
- There is only a one-time administrative charge and a refundable deposit (non-GST), and there will be no other extra or hidden charges.
- We provide opportunities for students to perform in our annual piano recitals at Jubilee Hall, YMS & at other Jam sessions events.
- We are musicians/instructors with absolutely NO attitude problem.

Where exactly are we?
We are located in Bugis Village (just next to the BURGER KING at the main traffic light), a mere one minute walk from Bugis MRT. You can get here by
MRT (stop at Bugis MRT) or by taking bus services: 7, 12, 63, 80, 175, 197, 851, 960. 980 or NR7 and alighting at Parco Bugis Junction or
outside Bugis MRT. Coming from Parco Bugis Junction is the easiest. Follow the instructions below!

PLAY BY EAR music school is the largest 2-storey Contemporary Piano Music College in
Singapore that provides specialised music education in piano Improvisation. We offer only
Pop Piano & Jazz Piano courses for adults in our school, and nothing else. We also sell
Digital Pianos and Pop&Jazz piano books/DVDs, and that's about it.
We are different because of the content we teach. We understand teaching and playing are
two separate things, especially when it comes to contemporary music playing. Students from
all walks of life with no musical background or even Classical Music grade 8 to diplomas and
degrees have come to learn from us. Our students range from casual music enthusiasts to
music teachers and even accomplished musicians. Our vision is to impart the concepts of
improvisation with an in-depth, proven teaching methodology developed over 8 years -
P.B.E.S. We love teaching. Its the passion that has driven us all these years to master the
art of teaching music improvisation. We love to be challenged.

Are you driving here?
There are several carparks around, however there isn't a 'proper' public
carpark in Bugis Village itself! The four main sheltered carparks are in Fu
Lu Shou, Bugis Parco Junction, Iuma and Raffles Hospital. Rochor Center
offers the cheapest parking rate without ERP, however the waiting time can
be very long. Raffles Hospital will be ideal if you need to escape from the
ERP. Fu Lu Shou will be the nearest carpark to Bugis Village, but do avoid
if you are coming on weekends in the afternoon after 12pm. Mid Link Plaza
will guarantee a parking space during the weekends but charges $4 per
entry. If you require valet parking, you may choose to park at
Intercontinental hotel charging aboutt $8 per hr. Bugis Parco Junction has

slope, not suitable for cars with very low suspensions.
