The term "music" is used extensively to describe a very broad art form. Its meaning doesn’t apply only to the classical, pop or jazz standards we are generally used to hearing. Music covers all melodies, rhythm and even silence, combined or apart. It consists of many genres, from baroque, classical or romantic to contemporary pop and jazz of the 20th century and their countless subgenres like Acid Jazz, Dance Punk, or Progressive-Rock.
'If we were to take only the present-day genres and subgenres of popular music and their relevant improvisation techniques, it would simply be impossible to learn everything, because every single genre has its very own discipline and playing techniques. Even the most renowned musicians in the world are only capable of doing what they are best at, because they specialise, focus, learn and excel on the path they have selected.'
Similarly, our students come from all walks of life and all levels of music background, being both complete beginners and students with formal classical training. Students who enroll are also of various age groups ranging from teenagers, young to middle-aged adults, children to senior retirees. We are prepared to teach every individual with equal dedication and quality. Our teaching course will be specially customized to your individual situation in order to ensure the most suitable approach for you, and to yield the best possible results.
'We make it possible by creating a personalized syllabus that constitutes several standalone subjects which a student can learn in either a linear or non-linear fashion at his or her own learning pace. Although the entire learning methodology is structured, it is also entirely customizable to every student’s learning preference and pace.'
Each P.B.E.S™ course comes in 4 levels of difficulty (with the exception of Jazz Piano Improvisation) and every student can experience the same methodology along two different paths. It is as with different tastes in food – we enjoy what we like to eat, so we are giving you the opportunity to choose what you like to play and to enjoy that as you learn. The first path you may choose is that of a fixed learning structure at each level with specific goals that will be met at the end.
'The second path is that of a well-organized ‘modular’ approach, in which our students may choose what they want to learn within the context of the syllabus, while skipping the parts that they may have already acquired from their previous music background.'
Regardless of the chosen paths, the P.B.E.S™ is tailored to every student’s unique learning ability. The best thing about the syllabus is its flexibility to meet your individual needs and requirements.
However, this is only one advantage of learning what you like. P.B.E.S™ also serves as a complete course to learn all the fundamentals and rudiments of contemporary music should you decide to learn comprehensively and academically. Other advantages include the increase in satisfaction upon gaining playing experience, the ability to connect to the music and to feel what you play. All of this motivates you to excel even further. Music is a wonderful thing that can be approached successfully in a personalised way, depending on factors such as your life situation, your music influences, your frame of mind, and learning what you like. We give you the opportunity to decide for yourself.
