P.B.E.S™ Exams for piano teachers

The P.B.E.S™ examinations is obligatory for all instructors who are authorised to use the P.B.E.Syllabus to teach.

PASS REQUIREMENT: 70 MARKS (OUT OF 100 MARKS) FOR PASS
90 MARKS (OUT OF 100 MARKS) FOR DISTINCTION

PREREQUISITE FOR ENTRY:

a. An employee or a legitimate freelancer by an authorized music school or center to use P.B.E.S™

b. Practical and theory in Contemporary piano certificate* (PTC / in-conjunction with P.B.E.S™)

*Applicants who have worked for a minimum of 1 year in any P.B.E.S™ accredited schools or centers not required

OBJECTIVE: To validate the candidate to be an official tutor to teach commercially, in tandem with P.B.E.S™.

The candidate will be tested predominantly on the usage of P.B.E.S™ for these areas:

1. (20%) knowledge (how well-informed are you about P.B.E.S™)

2. (50%) execution (how well are you able to administer the P.B.E.S™ techniques and improvise them onto songs)

3. (30%) tutoring (how well are you able to expound and teach using P.B.E.S™)

As such, the applicant will not be castigated on the following areas:

a. aural skills
b.overall musical adeptness and knowledge base of Jazz
c.overall performance skills such as playing speed, pedaling, fingering posture, scales, etc
d.sight reading
