Why buy a Piano Bench and not a
IKEA chair?

A proper piano bench is manufactured to the standard height specifications of acoustic & digital pianos.
Getting a generic stool or chair (eg. those you buy in a typical furniture store) for your piano can be a difficult
proposition. The height isn't right and that may be more uncomfortable than most people realise. An exact
height is needed for a proper sitting posture. The limited width of a generic stool or chair also mean an
awkward posture when wriggling to the right or left when playing the lower or upper octaves.
There is another kind of bench - the cross-axis bench, which is designed primarily for keyboardists.
Cross-axis benches are portable and can be adjusted to fit the height of the keyboard. But they don't
