16 November 2013 - Collaboration with Agape Community Services

Play by Ear Music School sponsored 11 keyboards to #sharp (a non-profit voluntary project by Agape Community Services) for youths who do not have the means to learn music. Objective: using music as a common language for mentoring opportunities and to encourage music improvisation.

27 October 2013 - Ageing with Lessons Newspaper Article

Slim Tan, a Play By Ear student, was featured in the "Life" section of Straits Times (Sun 27 Oct 2013) as part of a special article on active aging. 09 October 2013 - Bevlyn Khoo and Dawn Wong Collaboration

Play by Ear supports Bevelyn Khoo and Dawn Wong in their "Singsation" collaboration concert at Esplanade Recital Studio on the 14 Oct 2013. Bevlyn Khoo was the winner of Best Independent Album at the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2009 and Dawn Wong was contestant of Channel U’s Project Superstar II (on Mediacorp) and also appeared on Taipei television programme Super Idol 5.

05 September 2013 - Sylvester Sim and Nic Lee Collaboration

Play by Ear collaborated with Sylvester Sim (first runner-up of Singapore Idol) and Nic Lee (Lead guitarist of Mi Lu Bing – champion of Superband competition) to launch the 2013 awareness campaign ‘ The Importance of improvisation’ Music isn’t all about reading scores and following them. Just like any other art forms, improvisation is inevitable.

17 July 2013 - The re-opening of PPM Malaysia

A new subsidiary brand of PBE Singapore and the sole authorised training center in Malaysia to teach the P.B.E.S™ Method (Study of Contemporary Piano Improvisation and Aural Techniques) Pop Piano Music Center was officially re-opened on 27 July 2013. Located at KL newest shopping mall - Publika (10 mins drive from the twin tower) Address: Blk D1-G4-07, Solaris Dutamas, No.1, Jalan Dutamas 1, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The directors of PBE and PPM, along with 10 instructors from Singapore and Malaysia, embarked on a exciting journey of music and friendship. This instructor exchange day involved interactive training, jam sessions, as well as a tour around the colourful Bugis Street vicinity.

PPM - A new subsidiary brand of PBE Singapore and is the sole authorised training center in Malaysia to teach the P.B.E.S™ Method (Study of Contemporary Piano Improvisation and Aural Techniques) Pop Piano Music Center was officially opened on Saturday, 16th of March 2013 in Selangor Malaysia. Situated in the commercial heart of Damansara Utama, it focuses on teaching contemporary piano techniques in a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment.
